Tim Bonner
Tim is a Columbia, South Carolina native and University of South Carolina graduate (Go Gamecocks!). He received a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX as well as Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, SC. He is married to Bonnie, who is definitely a better cook. Tim and Bonnie love to travel and have a goal of seeing all 50 states together. Tim oversees various FBC ministries: Keenagers (Senior Adults), Missions, Discipleship, English as a Second Language (ESL), Stephen Ministry and, along with Pastor Allen, Deacon Ministry. In addition, Tim works with the Greeters Team to help persons new to the church to get connected. Before coming to FBC Tim served several churches in South Carolina and Maryland as their Pastor. He is also a retired U.S Army chaplain, proudly wearing the uniform for 30 years in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve. Tim’s favorite scripture is 2 Tim. 4:7-8 because it reflects his desire for the Lord to say at the end of his life that Tim has served Him well: “7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.“
